one fall through, I was at a loss. However, with a little searching,
I found your website and I am so glad I did!
You made the entire process so much easier, even though you were only my day of coordinator! I couldn’t have done all those DJ timelines without you! You went far and beyond my expectations of a day of coordinator and I have no complaints. My wedding day was exactly what I had planned- if something went wrong (I’m sure it did), I didn’t hear about it! When my new husband and I tried to do things, we were assured that we didn’t have to lift a finger and it would be done! I don’t think there is a better investment for a bride. I wanted to things to go the way I had planned and that was exactly what I received.
A bride and groom spend so much time, energy and money on a wedding,
why spend the entire day
worrying and trying to fix things yourself? A day of coordinator
was exactly what I needed and I think

Midnight Sun Events (Monica Kelson) was professional, attentive, organized, and provided me with the chance to relax on my wedding day while she took care of all the details. I was incredibly impressed with her as she thought of many unique touches and ideas for my special day. My husband and I were very lucky to have great weather, a wonderful venue, but most of all someone to take care of the A - Z while we enjoyed our guests and the night.
I didn't have to worry about ANYTHING and it was
the best night of my life. I know that I owe that to Monica's exceptional
services.

Dear Monica,
Gerald and I wanted to thank you for making our wedding day so
enjoyable. We were truly able to show up
and enjoy our wedding day. Even though we live in California and
the wedding was in Maryland, we were impressed with
how fast you responded to our emails and phone calls- usually within
hours of us having sent
the email or message.
When the wedding date was approaching you were very organized and requested all the contracts and contact information for our vendors well ahead of time. Even though we met you only 3 days before the wedding, with all the communication we had done ahead of time, I felt very comfortable in handing over the reigns of the wedding to you. Even though the ceremony and reception were about 45 minutes away from each other, and we had so many time constraints, the progression of our wedding day went seamlessly.
The reception was a traditional Chinese wedding banquet with multiple
courses and greater than 300 guests.
The whole day could not have run smoother thanks to you! We enjoyed
every minute of it, and were able to
because we knew that you would be there to take care of anything
that came up.

We hired Monica as a day- of coordinator but the title is deceiving since I could get her advice, direction or a 'you are doing great' at any time after our initial meeting. With most of the family in different parts of the country and unfamiliar with the area it was a relief to keep my family from setup or errand tasks. I passed all the details on to Monica which she handled to perfection. At the two week mark, Monica and I met to go over final details.
It was such a pleasure
to arrive at our location and see everything already in place and
waiting for guests. We truly felt like guests
at our own wedding.
Monica was very approachable, easy to reach and always receptive
to my requests and questions. She
approached every detail professionally and with my wishes in mind.
I have to admit I was weary of
coordinators and loosing the casual, creative atmosphere we wanted
at our event- with Monica she
brought our vision to fruition!
Our only snag with the day was the weather, in early April I was
praying for a 65 degrees no rain, instead
we received snow flurries. Monica made a snap decision to purchase
blankets for the outdoor ceremony
and heaters for the tent. Monica, in the midst of everything, made
time to trek to Ikea for the blankets (in white) that
were much appreciated by our guests.
Even when the unthinkable happened, Monica knew exactly how to
solve the issue.
I highly recommend Midnight Sun Events. Thank you Monica!

Hi Monica!
You were such a big help the day of the wedding! Even though we only met 2 days before the actual day of the wedding, I felt like you knew exactly what I wanted and how everything was supposed to go! Before the ceremony you had water and snacks for the entire wedding party and I am so thankful that you had the emergency kit because it was the key to fixing my cousin’s bridesmaid dress!! You kept us informed as to what was going on and let us know when it was time for us to get prepared for the ceremony. You also made sure everyone was in order and told them when to start walking. You were awesome at the reception! You got the flower arrangements from the ceremony site to the reception site and had them set up. You also made sure that each member of the wedding party had a drink for the toast! You ensured that everything ran smoothly and in the right order! My mom was really glad you were there to help take care of all of the little details! We were all able to enjoy the day! Everything was perfect thanks to your attention to detail!! I cannot thank you enough!!

Hi Monica,
I wanted to take a minute though and formally thank you for the job you did for us. Matt and I were thrilled with your services! You helped organize everyone during the rehearsal, being friendly but firm because of our time limit in the synagogue. You were there on Saturday to ensure that everything was in place and just as it should be. When you realized that the staff at the reception site wasn't adhering exactly to our timeline, you stepped in to take over. Monica, I cannot thank you enough for your being there. You were unobtrusive, but nevertheless in control. I always hear former brides say, "I wish I had been a guest at my own wedding," well I feel like I was a guest at my wedding because I didn't have to worry about a thing. I felt confident in your ability and you certainly demonstrated that my confidence was well placed.

Monica,
Carey and I would like to thank you so much for your fantastic work as the day-of-coordinator for our November 18 wedding. It was such a relief to us knowing that you were taking care of things before, during, and after the ceremony in Arlington and the reception in downtown DC. I was able to enjoy myself doing 'bride things' like having my hair and makeup done, getting ready in leisure, and spending time talking to friends and family instead of being overwhelmed with 'what else' needs to be done and is everyone where they need to be. I also appreciate your time before the wedding - seeing how the seamstress made my gown bustle, meeting with the club staff, confirming all the vendors, and getting a stressed out bride through the rehearsal.
Everything was lovely and seamless. We would be extremely pleased to recommend you to other couples. They will be making a great decision to have you there helping them plan, coordinate, and survive : ) such a special and all-too-busy day.

Halloween Party - Teressa Grijalva
Dear Monica,
One of my favorite times of the year to have a theme party is Halloween. Although I love my ghoulish events, I was procrastinating getting started. The idea of fitting anything more into my already overwhelmed schedule seemed daunting.
During our initial meeting, you helped me get focused on the decorations, guest list and food preparation. Thank you finding that wonderful cauldron which held the witches brew and floating bat eyes – what a hit! The table’s center piece with wolf claws holding a pineapple was just what I envisioned to create an eerie table setting.
Most of all, I could not have been prepared for the evenings haunting without your assistance in the food preparation itself. If you had not picked up the platters and ingredients and helped me prepare all the food – the vampires would have been very hungry and angry! Who knows what would have happened then!
Despite closing on and moving into your new home that same weekend – I know you would have loved to have been there. Being good for your word despite your moving challenges that day are to be commended. You showed true professionalism in the face of adversity.
I will be awaiting your return from the dead to plan my next party!
